The unique event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the ending the Siege of Leningrad.On January 27th, citizens and guests of the Northern capital will be lined up in a row, holding candles, thus creating enormous size inscription "900 days". This living arrangement, in which will be created by 2,000 people, will be a tribute to the endurance and the exploits of soldiers and ordinary people of the blockade of Leningrad that last for 900 days.This unique event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of the siege of Leningrad. Commemorative events will take place on Nevsky Prospect and Palace Square. The act entitled "Candles of Memory", will begin on Nevsky Prospect at 19:00. Participants will gather at Malaya Sadovaya Street, while thousands of candles will be lighted up and passed along Nevsky Prospect towards Palace Square, thus creating huge size living inscription "900 days". People from this time period of the blockade of Leningrad will be taking part, but anyone else can take part in the festive parade. In addition, starting from 18:00 at the exit of the station "Nevsky Prospect", St. Petersburg will receive a commemorative ribbon for the victory of Leningrad. Also at 19:00, for the memory and bravery of the soldiers and civilians of the blockade, a citywide moment of silence will happen. Related:
