Each year on May 9th, thousands of people in St. Petersburg gather in the center of the city to commemorate Victory Day. The grand celebration is marked with ceremonies, parades, and the thanking of veterans who gave so much for the people around the whole world and the Soviet Union against Nazi Germany. 

Also on May 9th, there is an astonishing fireworks display that lights up downtown St. Petersburg. The show starts at 21:00 and is best seen from the bridges of downtown St. Petersburg or from the embankments that surround the Neva River. But the ultimate way to see the show is to go up and down the Neva River on a boat. Everyone this year will be able to board a comfortable boat to travel along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg! The event lasts for two hours and the culmination of the evening will be a fireworks display.
