Peter and Paul Fortress beach will have a rink and an ice slide installed

On New Year holidays at the walls of Peter and Paul Fortress there will be an ice slide and a large ice rink installed for all to enjoy!

January 1st, 2014, at the Peter and Paul Fortress Ice Sculpture Festival kicks off called: "Ice fairy tale in the fortress" (Russian: "Ледовая сказка в Петропавловской крепости"). Here the attention of St. Petersburg will bring dozens of amazing statues of ice in resemblance to Russian fairy tales. 

By the opening of the festival at the fortress wall, there will be installed a large toboggan slide for everyone to enjoy. Due to the special sliding cover slip, the slide can be used in any weather. And in January near the slide, the ice rink will become larger and larger.

Architects and sculptors from all over Russia and the CIS countries will work together to create beautiful sculptures. Specially for this event, they will deliver about 950 tons of Arctic ice from Murmansk.
