Ice Rink on Palace Square

On the main square of the city, there will be an ice skating rink, and on New Year's Eve famous skater will perform for viewers to watch in amazement the beauty of figure dancing. This was reported by representatives of the City Committee of Culture. 

Holiday events in St. Petersburg this year will be dedicated to the upcoming Olympics in Sochi. So the New Year in the central streets of the city will be in a sporting fashion.

The festivities in the center of the northern capital will begin at 22:00 on the Palace Square, as well as at Gostiny Dvor and Malaya Konyushennaya Street. Here, various exciting interactive programs, part of which will be a variety of contests and relay races, will take place. In addition, the sites will be equipped with special screens, through which will be broadcast New Year greetings from Olympic champions and their coaches.
