Passenger tours opened on small rivers and canals
On small rivers and canals of St. Petersburg opened passenger tours. The first ships today have departed from the docks at Anichkov Bridge on the Fontanka River and Red bridge on the Moika. This is the earliest period that begins water transport in the past 15 years. Now in St. Petersburg there are 17 shipping companies, owning two hundred small passenger vessels. In the past they carried about navigation and tours of a half million people. According to the president of the Association of owners of passenger vessels Eugene Zubarev, this season promises to bring in more people than last year.Water transport in this year again is not only for tourist excursions, but also for regular passenger services. Smolny promised to sponsor aquabuses along the Central route in St. Petersburg. |
