Every year, we eagerly await summer. But it comes with unbearable heat which makes us start thinking about a vacation in a cooler country.
Hot weather is harmful to the body; it can cause dehydration, and can lead to heatstroke and sunstroke. That’s why people are advised to wear knitted hat, drink more water and try to stay in a cool place. But the hot weather in St Petersburg shouldn’t make you stay home and lazy around. That is why Saint Petersburg Guide is here with more updates on the most interesting events taking place in St Petersburg this weekend.

Friday (22 July 2011): As part of “The year of Italy in Russia and Russia in Italy”, the State Complex “Dvorets Kongressov” (Palace of Congresses) is holding a festival of landscape design “Floral fantasy. Florentine mosaic” with the use of the techniques of park building that are typical of Italian gardens. Golf club “Duny” will host the XIV men’s golf Annual Championships of St. Petersburg. Every Friday, Konstantin Kapitan invites you to a humorous show. J. Walker club restaurant will host a party called “No Sex. Only Sax”.

Saturday (23 July 2011): Sand sculpture festival is traditionally held on the Zayachy Island beach. Marc Chagall exhibition “Le Bible” will be held at art-center “Perinnye Ryady”. The first event of series “Living Legends of Leningrad Oblast” will be held 8 km from Ivangorod, near a site called Kampergolm on the bank of Narva River. Stachka gallery will present Nick Teplov’s exhibition “The drowned - hidden treasures of tides”. A grand celebration of summer night will be held at J. Walker club.

Sunday (24 July 2011): Monumental exhibition “Our silence” has opened at Kirov Central Park of Culture and Leisure. A sporting event “Summer Street Session” will be held at the park. Oleg Burian’s exhibition “Galahad. Monument of faceted glass” will take place at the New Exhibition Hall of the Museum of Urban Sculpture in St Petersburg. NeBar will again turn into a Bitch house on Sunday! Presentation of video of Partymaker Stef “Lada” will take place at XXXX bar at Tretya Sovetskaya.

During the week, we recommend to visit: Opening of Victor Golyavkin’s exhibition, the “Kupletisty” play, Robert Plant concert, exhibition “Spanish cinematograph: a visual chronicle” and “The Master and Margarita” play.
