St. Petersburg will be able to see the last meteor shower of autumn 

On the night of November 16 to the 17th, residents and guests to St. Petersburg will be able to see one of the most exciting and spectacular  showers of the year - the Leonids meteor shower, which will be the last meteor shower to happen this year. Get ready to make a wish. 

Active stargazing of the Leonids began on Nov. 15 and ends at the end of the month, but the peak activity will occur during the night of November 16 to the 17th. 

It is worth noting that the Leonids meteor shower is a unique phenomenon, which peaks approximately every 33 years. At this time, one can see hundreds of meteors per hour - up to 50 flashes per second. 

The Leonids meteors will originate from the constellation Leo. Due to the rotation of the Earth, this view will be almost the same from each northern latitude of the Earth, so the patient observer will be able to see quite bright meteors.

You should be able to observe this event without precision instruments, but in St. Petersburg is almost impossible. Although if you get away from the city, to a place without a lot of light, then you should be able to observe this event in all its the beauty.
