Parade Of Old Steam Trains In St. PetersburgOn May 7th, at the Finland train station, citizens and guests to St. Petersburg will be able to see unique samples of the Soviet retro vehicles of the 1905-1955's, and the atmosphere of victory of the postwar years, when the squares had triumphal marches, and the orchestra played the solemn songs of "Katyusha" and "Blue Scarf".This huge parade is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and will be held May 7 at 10:30 am at the Finland train station (Vinlyandsky vokzal). St. Petersburg will see the arrival of four vintage locomotives, emitting whistles lingering in the air and sounds of the train running. Models and other retro instruments issued during the period from 1905 to 1955 will be seen. Each train, taking part in the parade, has a rich history, behind which are people who have made an invaluable contribution to the victory. In addition, on this day at the station will be reconstructed festive atmosphere of the postwar period: popular songs will sound from the 40s, and the square will have a real field kitchen. |
