The night of the museums is a special night for all museums around St. Petersburg, large and small, to show visitors a different aspect of cultural experience. All around St. Petersburg on the night of May 19th until May 20th, museums will open their doors starting in the evening until the early morning in a combination of exhibitions, concerts, performances, author tours, master classes, and historical recreations will be joyful for all who attend. This year, the theme for the program will be “urban mystery”. 

 The many museums of St. Petersburg hold secrets and other information generally unknown to the general public. Everything included in these museums have their own special story and history. It is another great way to learn and have fun at the same time. Last year, the night of the museums was held on 21-22 May. The theme of last year’s night was space. If the success of last year’s event was any sign of success, then this year’s event should be even better. The night of May 19th will be shared by museums of 42 different European countries and be held in almost 2,000 museums. The celebration continues to grow in St. Petersburg, as more and more museums keep joining the event. 

The night of the museums will be supported by: the Committee on Culture, Committee on Youth Policy, and interactions with various NGOs. It will certainly be a great evening for all those who love to learn and have fun. Remember, it is only once a year, so don’t miss it!
