The Alexander Garden is hosting the event called “Bears of the World.” Two-meter tall bears can be found around the whole garden from June 21st to August 5th this summer. The official opening of this exhibition will take place today, June 22, at 5 pm. This is a non-profit project in which calls for peaceful coexistence around the world. The exhibit is organized with the support of the Consulate General of Germany in St. Petersburg along with the company, “Buddy Bear Berlin.” The Buddy Bear collection includes the total of 144 bears, painted by artists from different countries.The bears stand in a circle holding hands, and represent a call for tolerance and understanding between different peoples and cultures. The project was first launched in 2002, and since then, organizers held 23 exhibitions around the world. The exhibition has and always will be free. Artist Marina Muzalevskaya painted the Russia teddy bear. So come out and see a fun event of bears! |
