On the beach of Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg will be a sand sculpture festival that is sure to amaze everyone who attends. From July 20th to the end of the summer, guests can come and see sculptures such as Winnie the Pooh, Lion King, Wolf and Rabbit, and SpongeBob, all made out of sand. This year’s festival is based on the theme of cartoon characters. Sculptors from all around the world have spend a long time forming these great works of art so that the people of St. Petersburg can enjoy them this summer. The sand sculpture festival will be open for viewing on July 20th, 2012 and will be open from 10:00 to 21:00. The exact date of closure is not sure yet, so it will be around the end of August. Entrance to the festival is 250 rubles for adults, and 150 rubles for students. For children under seven years of age, admission is free. |
