Starting in December in St. Petersburg, there will be new metro trains that will operate on the green line. The trains are after a model called “Neva.” The city has bought these trains because they are much faster and for the most important reason, they are silent. The trains can reach a speed of around 90 miles an hour and make little to no noise at all. It is a great improvement from the current trains in operation, which are noisy and uncomfortable. The current trains are only a slight modification from the trains that ran in the 1970’s. The new trains should be a hit with everyone who rides them. The city hopes in the near future to have these trains running on all the lines in the metro. Related Articles: |
