The end of the fountain season has dawned on St-Petersburg. The first fountain that was turned off was the one at Sestroetsk. The last fountain to be turned off is near the Kazan Cathedral on Nevsky Prospect and this will happen on October 29th. Once all the fountains are off, they will be checked to see if any of them need repairing. Last year the closing was especially difficult for the city workers, as hooligans would often damage the fountains with paint or foam.
