69th Anniversary of Complete Liberation of Leningrad |

Today, 27 January, the city of St. Petersburg, celebrates the 69th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege during the Great Patriotic War (World War II) from 1941-1945. At 7 pm tonight, the torches at the Rostral columns will be lit up in remembrance of those who lost their lives during this time. Then at 9 pm, a fireworks show will be held at the walls of the Peter and Paul fortress. Pic by Anton Senyuta |
