The upcoming Olympics in Sochi next year are fast approaching! With all the excitement that it will bring to the people of Russia and around the world, an Olympic countdown timer has been set up on Malaya Konyushennaya Street. The timer shows how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds are left until the start of the Olympic games in Sochi- 2014. The design consists of three panels, which contain an asymmetrical design of diamonds, blue triangles, and other blue colors. Both sides feature an electronic scoreboard with red numbers.

The same clock was installed in seven other cities. These cities are: Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, and Pyatigorsk. The same concept of a countdown timer was also constructed on Malaya Konyushennaya 13 years ago to bring in the millennium.

The Olympic games are scheduled to start on February 7th, 2013. Official ticket sales should start in February 2013, and the cheapest ticket will cost 1,000 rubles, and the most expensive costing around 1,000 Euros.
