The renowned Mariinskiy Theatre will be performing the legendary ballet "Swan Lake", in 3D on June 6th at 21:30. The ballet "Swan Lake" will be shown in 3D in 1,200 cinemas worldwide (!!!) The 1st world Broadcast is a part of the festival "Stars of the White Nights" (Russian: Звезды белых ночей). The ballet will be conducted and shown in regular broadcasts too. There will be the total of 8 broadcast cameras shooting the ballet. Ross MacGibbon, a former dancer who performed at the Covent Garden, directs the broadcast. Support of 3D-technology is provided by James Cameron and Vince Pace, whose company; "Cameron Pace" is the absolute world leader in this field. "The most important task of the project, which was repeatedly mentioned by Valery Gergiev, is this: the Mariinsky Ballet, which has lots of fans throughout the world, should be able to see even those who have never had the chance to come to St. Petersburg" - reported in the press service of the theater.
