St. Petersburg - one of the New 7 Wonders of the WorldSt. Petersburg is included in the list of 28 finalists for the "New Seven Wonders of the World." This means that St. Petersburg is recognized as one of the greatest creations of our time, and the city needs to gather enough votes on the contest site. The contest "New7Wonders" was created by an independent organization called, "New Open World Corporation" on the initiative of the Swiss citizen Bernard Weber. The last elections were held five years ago. In 2007, the contest was looking for "miracles" among the best in world architecture. The turnout nearly 90 million people from around the world voted in the contest. Then the most voted on "miracles " were: The Great Wall of China, the famous Coliseum in Rome, the ancient Jordanian city of Petra, and many other monuments. In 2013, people will choose the most "marvelous cities", and the city on the Neva is on the list of 28 finalists! Helping St. Petersburg to become one of seven "new wonders of the world " can be done by anyone, you just vote for the city on the site of the project.
