Petrogradskaya Finally OpensOn Friday, November 15th, 2013, Petrogradskaya metro station was finally opened after about a one-year renovation. The station opened at 5:45 am and this year Petrogradskaya station will be 50 years old! The station was closed from January 5, 2013 until November 14, 2013 and caused most passengers to take other methods of transport or to go to Chernaya Rechka station or Gorkovskaya station. The waterproofing, an improved drainage system of groundwater, as well as modernized escalators and a renovated the lobby, are some of the changes that took place over the past 10 months of renovations in the metro station. There was a big incident beginning in October as there was a fire in the station that was eventually put out on the same day.
