Russia and South Korea to Introduce Visa- Free Travel

Russia and South Korea have agreed on a mutual visa change in which visitors to each country can enter without a visa for up to 60 days. For half a year, a visitor can stay up to 90 days out of the 180 without a visa. The consulate of South Korea in Vladivostok Russia, Kim Il Khvan said that these changes will take effect from January 2014. But for those who wish to study or work in either respected country will need to obtain a visa.

Last year, around 95,000 tourists from South Korea came to Russia, and around 167,000 Russians visited South Korea last year.  This change will increase the number of visitors to both countries and perhaps the most affected cities will be St. Petersburg and Moscow. It is predicted that there will be a huge increase in tourists from Korea to Russia in July and August in 2014. Also, Koreans will probably want to visit to Sakhalin and the far east of Russia, as it is not so far from South Korea itself.
