Exhibition: St. Petersburg Architectural ModelsUnder the roof of the Museum of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, you can find an amazing and truly unique exhibition in which has never been in any other city in the world. The exhibition is made up of the exact models and drawings of the most famous monuments of the northern capital. The exhibition includes smaller copies of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Mikhailovsky Castle, Smolny, as well as other unique and accurately reproduced layouts of St. Petersburg architectural masterpieces. All of this and much more have become part of the collection of city models in the Museum of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts. Special attention should be one of the most impressive models, the model of St. Isaac's Cathedral. At one time, in order to build any building, the architects had to present to the public a clear layout of the building. This tradition has taken root in Europe, and began in St. Petersburg. Later, there was a tradition in St. Petersburg to transmit these exact reduced copies to the Academy of Arts. The layouts allow the viewer to see even the smallest details of structures that are often invisible in the study of any architectural masterpiece. Exposure of the fantastic miniatures in the Museum of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts is one of a kind not only in Russia, but anywhere in the World. Hours: Wednesday - Sunday: 11.00 - 19.00 Address: Universitetskaya (University) Embankment, 17. |
