Most tourists visit Saint-Petersburg in the summer. But can you really feel the spirit of Venice of the north in the summer? In winter, traveling to St. Petersburg has several advantages: 

1. Cheap accommodation in Saint-Petersburg:  a wide range of convenient rooms available because of the low season for travel in Saint-Petersburg.

2. No lines at museums. For example, in summer to visit the Hermitage, you must stand in line for 30 minutes to 1,5 hours.

3. Theater season is underway. At the end of May - beginning of June, many St. Petersburg theaters are closed for the holidays and resume their work in September.

4. Abundance of exhibitions, conferences, forums, if you are interested in business, science or modern artistic life of St. Petersburg, because everything in the summer is on break and one can only see these moments in the winter.

5. You can see the original winter beauty of St. Petersburg. Snowy St. Petersburg is very, very beautiful, and so it is impossible to see in the summer. Winter beauty landscape parks of Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk will never leave you indifferent.

But of course, be prepared for winter travel: get stocked with warm clothing, shoes with thick soles, hats, gloves - it is the Venice of the North, afterall! ;)
