Here is a list of 10 things that you definitely should do while enjoying your stay in St. Petersburg! 1. Walking the whole length of Nevsky Prospect starting from Palace Square to Alexander Nevsky Monastery (also known as Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra). While on this great stroll, enjoy yourself in the many great cafes and sushi bars, as the walk is not short! 2. Take a boat tour on the rivers and Canals of St. Petersburg. The tour is great as you see St. Petersburg from the water, giving you a different look at all the great sites and architecture around the city, as well as the bridges when they are up. 3. Enjoy a bottle of Admiralteyskoe beer on the Moika and Fontanka rivers with a friend. During this, just take in the moment that you are in the most beautiful city in Russia and enjoying life. :) 4. Enjoy the view of St. Petersburg from the rooftops around the city. The view from the rooftops is perhaps the best view in the whole city, but it’s the hardest to get to. For information on how to get on top of some roofs, you can contact St-Petersburg Guide. 5. Take in an opera show at the Mariinskiy Theatre. The amazing inside of the theatre will leave you in awe of its beauty, and the show is one that is revered as one of the best in the world! 6. Go to the areas outside of the center to see a different side of St. Petersburg. Not the whole city looks like the center, so its best to take a bicycle and go to places such as the Elagin, Krestovsky, Petrovsky, Kamenny islands. 7. Krestovsky Island is a place you must go visit, as it is very beautiful and it features an amusement park Divo Ostrov. Also, newly constructed buildings and yachts can be found on and around the island. 8. Go for a tour around Ligovsky Prospect, Rubinstein, Konyushennaya or Dumstaya streets for a bar hop. Great bars are always attracting young people here nightly, but it is better to go with a local. 9. In the evening during holidays you can go to the Troitsky Bridge to see a wonderful firework shop. The firework show also features a sea battle recreation that was important in St. Petersburg’s past, as Peter the Great was the founder of St. Petersburg and the Russian navy. It is a great show and a must see one! 10. The view of the Finnish bay is a great site and the best places to see it are from Vasilevsky Island and Peterhof. Just for a short days trip with loved ones or friends, it is a great way to get out of the city for half a day to enjoy some nature in St. Petersburg. |
