Ice Sculpting Festival 2014From January 1st - March 1st, the wall of the Peter and Paul Fortress will have dozens of erected ice sculptures to the heroes of Russian fairy tales, as well as to install a large toboggan slide and an outdoor ice rink for all to enjoy!The Kronverksky beach strait on Hare Island (Russian: Zayachy ostrov) will be transformed and turned into a real island of Russian fairy tales, the inhabitants of which will be the heroes of the literary works of famous writers and Russian folklore. The creation of the amazing ice sculptures are the works of skilled sculptors from St. Petersburg and the CIS countries. According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2014 is the Year of the Horse, so the main character this year will be the Humpbacked Horse. In addition, the festival's opening "Ice Sculpting Festival 2014" from the fortress walls to install a large toboggan slide to all comers. Due to the special sliding cover slip, it can be used in any weather. And in January near the slide will appear an outdoor skating rink.
