From December 21st to January 14th on Ploshad Ostrovskogo in the center of the city, will be the traditional St. Petersburg Christmas Fair. The event will be held for three weeks and as usual, guests can come to the fair to buy souvenirs, gifts, handicrafts, and traditional Russian food such as: pancakes, pies, dumplings, and honey drinks.

The first Starbucks will be opening in Piterland, the mall and water park center in which is located in the north of the city. Also, Starbucks will be opening in Galeria shopping mall (UPDATE: THERE WILL BE NO STARBUCKS IN GALERIA. STOCKMANN NEVSKY CENTRE IS THE NEW LOCATION.) and Mega Dibenko.

Business brothers Zingarevich of Plaza Lotus Group are discussing an underground complex near Ploshad Vosstaniya in real terms, in order to initiate the project of the underground complex under Ploshad Vosstaniya. The center would include retail space for shops and parking for cars. Discussion of the project stopped at the end of the 2000s due to the financial crisis, but now, on assurances Mikhail Zingarevich, the documents again are agreed in relevant local committees and have received the personal approval of the Governor. This could be complex is valued at an estimated $ 1 billion.
